This may be an issue. The rules for start up state that:
"Any player that spent any time on your team's 25-man roster from the start of the season until June 9 can be added to your official initial roster (must be chosen by September 1, 2013)."
I know that Holt spent time on the Sox's roster in 2013 but I just pulled his game logs and his first ML start for the Sox was on July 6. This seems like an oversight in the same vein as the now infamous Carlos Torres incident. My interpretation of the rules is that he was Pirates property but I would wait for another member of the board to confirm that before moving forward.

Yes, Braves is right. Somehow we all missed it, but Holt's first game with the Red Sox was in July which means he is Pirates property.
Here's what needs to happen: Royals drop Holt immediately as he is Pirates property. I will unlock that old trade thread. Royals and Red Sox need to come up with a substitute for Holt --or-- Red Sox need to reach an agreement to acquire Holt from Pirates. When (if) an agreement is reached, post the amended trade and the Board will review.
I think in this case, the involved GMs should be able to find a solution that works best for everyone. If no solution can be reached in 14 days then the Board will step in and make a ruling one way or another and that will be that.

Precedence has been set. Trade should be voided. Holt is pit property. As for the next offer, no way Holt is equal to 2nd rd. The 2nd rd is replacing Holt, so yes their values are linked- agree with cubs.

Some general issues:
1. Transactions are not complete until they receive board member approval. Sometimes transactions will slip through the cracks, when they do please post a reminder for board review in the individual transaction thread.
2. ESPN adds. Players may not be added to ESPN rosters until the transaction has been approved.
3. In-season FA. We don't require you to have an open roster spot before you can bid on an In-season FA. However, if you win an In-season FA, you have 24 hours from the time a board member awards your team the FA to make room on your team. As soon as you've made room, just post a response in the FA thread letting the Board know your roster has an open spot. The board will then give final approval and you can add the player to your roster.
There will be a PM to all GMs about numbers 1 & 2. Post any questions and we'll get them answered

Got a question about how to tell if someone is a FA. Reposting that info here:
Here's how to tell who owns a player:
1. If player was on a starter roster then that team owns him for the duration of his contract. When the contract expires, he's a FA. 2. For players not on starter rosters, the team that first signed the player owns him for the duration of his rookie contract. 3. Rookie contracts include before a player makes it to the majors (e.g. Javier Baez is on his rookie contract). 4. Rookie contracts extend for five years after the season in which a player hits 50 IP or 150 AB. 5. Rookie contracts do not cost anything until a team calls up the player, then the player costs 300k/year for the duration of the rookie contract. 5. At the end of the rookie contract, the player is a FA.
For players owned by one of our 6 unowned teams: 1. The unowned team retains rights to the player until the end of his rookie contract. 2. However, during the NFAD all players owned by the 6 unused teams are eligible to be drafted in the first 2 rounds. 3. 3rd round was added to the NFAD this year to clear out the unused teams starter rosters. 3rd round picks can only be used on players who appear on the unused teams starter rosters. After the NFAD, all players from unused teams' starter rosters will become FAs (so a guy like Teixeira who is unlikely to be drafted will probably be a FA after this year's NFAD). 4. Next year there will not be a 3rd round to the NFAD, just 2 rounds.

Rostering after trades.
Hello, I was curious. At the completion of agreed and approved trades, are the paid players involved able to be rostered, at new owner discretion, either ESPN (MLB) or PAID MINORS.
Or do the players néed to be rostered as such before trade then either promoted or demoted.
This is why I ask. Say, for instance, I agréé to trade one player from my ESPN roster for two players from another teams ESPN roster.
Since I have only one open slot on the ESPN roster, could I roster one on ESPN and one PD MINORS once trade is approved?
Or, would both players received need to be rostered on ESPN first since they were on the other teams ESPN roster?
Ex Team1 trades J Mauer $$$$ 2099 For Team2 trades M Trout $$$$ 2099 Y Darvish $$$$ 2099
Could Team1 place Yu in paid minors immwdiately then recall?
Thanks- not thé best at asking the question. Hope it makes sensé. Peace.

Mets, you would need to use a waiver pass to put either Trout or Darvish in your paid minors.

Hello.I had a question concerning waiver passes. Since the season is over, are they reset and we may begin to set our rosters? I tried searching but could not locate. Thank you.
