How is position eligibility determined? Michael Cuddyer for example: does he fit at both 1B and OF? So far this year he's got 61 games in the OF and 6 at 1B. Last year was 74/26. Thanks again.

Position eligibility is determined by espn (or possibly yahoo, depending on the site we use for our league but most likely espn). From Espn: POSITION ELIGIBILITY Player position eligibility is based on two criteria that must be met. Once either of the following conditions are met, the player's position eligibility will be modified to reflect this. Games Played Last Season - A player must have played in a minimum of 20 games in a position to be eligible for that position. The exception is rookies, they will be eligible for the position in which they begin the season. Games Played in the Current Season - Once a player has played 10 games in a position during the regular season they will have that position added to their eligibility. This means that they will become eligible for the new position beginning on the eleventh game in that position. These games do not need to be contiguous. So Cuddyer would be eligible at 1B and OF based on playing at least 20 games at each position last year. He will be eligible for OF next year (since he has played 20 games there this year) but would need 14 more games at first to be eligible there for next year.

Can we put FA tags on players we draft? Or only on players from our current rosters?

If you are talking about Franchise Player designations then the timing doesn't work out for the first year. According to the rules for the first year, those designations need to be done before September 1st with subsequent years being November 1st. Since the draft starts on 9/7 you wouldn't be able to designate prior to the cutoff.

By FA tags do you mean franchise player tags? Cards are right, rules say for 2014 those designations should be done by Sept 1 and the rules say that you assume the contract of the player you're drafting. I could see how people might want to tag a player they draft, I'll take this issue to the board and get clarification for you.

Yes, meant to type FP. Thanks for the responses. I don't have an issue with it either way but it would certainly impact how I use them. Could see why these would be reserved for current players from our teams..
Related FP question: Let's say I have a player who is under contract for $20M per year for four years. I put an FP tag on him for two full seasons and remove it on the day that tag turns three. Do I revert to paying that player's actual salary for the final two years of his contract, or does he become a free agent immediately regardless of his contract length?

The latter part of your question is the answer. When you tag someone as a FP you are overriding their current contract with the new one. Whenever you untag a FP you are always dropping them.

So, players called up after June 9 who weren't drafted by their current teams are the property of the drafting team? Waaaaaaaaa! I want my Wheeler!

That is correct. Unfortunate timing for your team for sure. Same thing with the Rays and Wil Myers.

Wait so royals has rights to both Shields and Myers? So I don't get Alex Meyers and Washington gets him?

Yeah I think Nats couldn't wait any longer to get things started so a lot of later in the season call-ups will not be on the starter rosters. Singleton comes to mind as well.
Paraphrasing the rules: You own all players your team first signed unless they are on another team's starter roster.

Sorry for the multiple repeats. Phone app sucks.
So Toronto gets all those players from Miami and the milb players? Plus they still get syndergaard and Philly has the right to D'arnaud? Sorry that just seems off to me. Why can't we just have the minor league roster as of June 9th instead of trying to track down who got drafted by whom?
